In March, our quartet played for a lovely Chicago wedding. Danielle and Jeremy’s entire event was in a tropical greenhouse which gave her March wedding a summery feel. It was raining that Saturday, but I guess that means they will have lots of good luck! Danielle was assisted by a wedding planner who was one of the most helpful planners with whom I have had the pleasure of working.
Danielle requested these music selections for her wedding:
Seating of Parents………………………………………….Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring(Bach)
Processional……………………………………………………………………..Canon in D(Pachelbel)
Bridal Processional……………………………………………………Trumpet Voluntary(Clarke)
Unity Candle…………………………………………………………….My Heart Ever Faithful(Bach)
Recessional…………………………………………….Arrival of the Queen of Sheeba(Handel)
Although Danielle and Jeremy’s wedding was very traditional in their song choices and ceremony program, the Unity Candle piece Danielle chose was unique because we have never before played My Heart Ever Faithful in a ceremony. It was a beautiful choice! Our quartet also played at the cocktail hour entertaining the guests with many “spring-like” pieces, including Spring from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. It’s always great to play at the cocktail hour because we have more contact with the guests. Every wedding has one or two guests who, like us, are music ‘nerds’ and enjoy making music requests which we try to oblige.
Congratulations Danielle and Jeremy!
